Match me to open jobs |
Despite notable technology advances in e-recruiting and Competency Management, some fundamental
problems persist.
Matching a person to a job remains unreliable and inconsistent. All participants to the job matching process are hindered.
A substantial cause for this variability stems from the continued use of highly subjective "text-based" content from
individuals (in their Resumes), and companies (in their job posts and job descriptions). As a result, despite important advances
in technologies, the job matching process is like trying to "hit a moving target". We like to say:
Employers (and their recruiters) use diverse "home-grown" words and terms (in job descriptions, competency definitions,
job posts) which seldom match those used by their competitors. Some employer job posts are intentionally vague to attract more
applicants. Even further disparities exist across industry boundaries, where terms in use do not match, even when both terms
basically designate the same (or nearly identical) thing or process.
Job seeker Resumes are routinely "tweaked" and tailored to target an industry and "Job Objective" .
A Resume also has 'variable inflation': some paragraphs offer ample details, while others have close to none ... while the whole
is subjectively aiming to be relevant toward a given job objective. Resumes are not only inconsistent in the details they contain,
but also in the highly variable word choices use to convey that information. Current "Personal Branding" trends add further fuel
to this fire.
In short, the job matching process is like trying to "hit a moving target". We like to say:
"A career is too important to rely on a chance meeting of keywords.
Job matching doesn't have to be a keyword lottery."
SkillZoom eliminates the inaccuracy and unpredictable behavior of "keyword-based" matching processes. Our technology centers on an
innovative approach where individuals, recruiters, HR staff, department managers or even external contractors can all be
"speaking the same language" ... all speaking in the same way, about the same thing. SkillZoom is a superior competency
and job matching tool, providing fast results with unprecedented accuracy. Read more.

Employers & Recruiters
Finding the right blend of job skills by matching keywords contained in Resumes is imprecise, at best. SkillZoom helps
you identify superb matches in a fraction of the time, with unprecedented accuracy. Break away from keyword-guessing games, ...
knowing that over the last five months, your ATS and associated files contain ... seven "slightly" different Resume versions
for the same person, while you may have also picked up another copy (or two...) from your search in external Resume databases.
SkillZoom helps quickly identify knowledge and expertise both inside and outside an organization and with far more precision.
SkillZoom supports the views of the Semantic Web, where context, meaning and specificity are elevated to a new level.
When your company accepts a new client project, assembling a skilled project team, scouring outdated internal employee files, or
disparately assembled competency data, or be ablle to evaluate an ad-hoc addition of a temp contractor to the team ... shouldn't have
to be so complicated.... Read more here.

Individuals
With SkillZoom, individuals create their highly detailed competency profile: the SkillZoom Profile. The process of creating your
profile is similar to a 'Resume builder', which in this instance, creates something akin to a "universal Resume"... However,
remember: it is -NOT- a Resume. Your SkillZoom Profile is your personal, detailed 'competency passport'. It contains -all- your skills and
competencies for you to use toward any potential job roles you wish to consider in the future.
If your employer uses SkillZoom as an internal Competency Management tool, your SkillZoom Profile allows managers of your organization
to quickly and accurately identify specific skill sets for project assignments, and readily identifying in-house expertise. For example:
"Which one of our engineers has prior offshore design experience for flexible, high pressure umbilicals, in 5,000 feet of water, offshore
West Africa, preferably Angola, and who also who has worked with Sonangol metallurgical and welding specifications?"
SkillZoom helps quickly identify knowledge and expertise both inside and outside an organization and with far more precision.
